3. It is home to Hawaii’s biggest restored ancient temple that is religious in origin.
No other Hawaiian island can let you see this important Hawaiian treasure. The Puukohola Haiku is located at the South Kohala in the Big Island of Hawaii and is supposed to be one among the last religious structures built before the westerns were able to come to the island. This Heiau, the Hawaiian term for temple, is built not just to serve as a place of worship but also as a sacred temple for Kukailimoku, the war god of the Hawaiians. This temple is an offer to the war god to help Kamehameha the Great to aid him in his quest to bring together the islands of Hawaii. His wish has finally came true when he was able to do so in 1810.

4. The Big Island has the Waipio Valley in its territory.
The Waipio Valley, also known to many as the “Valley of the King”s for it is the home to one of the Hawaiian Kings King Kamehameha I when he was a boy, became the heart of not just the religious life of Hawaii but also its political life. The Waipio Valley is can be located at the north part of the Hamakua Coast. Once called home by thousands of locals, the valley is now home of only a few hundred of Hawaiians. What makes the Waipoi Valley special aside from its rich culture and important role in the history of Hawaii is its magnificent and one of a kind beauty. The Valley of the Kings is home Hiilawe Falls, a great body of water that falls 1,300 feet in the rear of Waipio.

5. It has quaint little picturesque towns that will delight your stay
The Big Island of Hawaii boasts of Hilo and Kona Coast, two quiet little towns that are picturesque and rich in culture. These towns may be small but they offer a lot to their visitors.
