Vacation In Positano Italy

Summary: For a place to be conveniently located on the famed Amalfi Coast, it isn’t surprising for Positano to earn also such a worldwide recognition

For a place to be conveniently located on the famed Amalfi Coast, it isn’t surprising for Positano to earn also such a worldwide recognition. Let’s learn more about Positano and see if facts justify the truth.

Originally a quaint fishing village, Positano isn’t very wealthy at the start. But when Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck (Of Mice and Men, The Grapes of Wrath) published his essay Harper’s Bazaar that featured heavily on Positano, tourist began to take notice of this quaint little fishing village that clings precariously on the cliffs of Amalfi Coast. “It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone”, as the line goes. That was 1953.

Ever since then, Positano had made it into the hot lights on more than one occasion. Like the 1994 film entitled Only You starring Robert Downey Jr. and Marisa Tomei in a romantic film and a Positano setting. Another is the 2003 film entitled Under the Tuscan Sun that starred Diane Lane. There’s even an International Festival on Television Animation that happens on early April every year where the coveted price Pulcinella Awards are given for excellence in animation. Recent notable entries include Ice Age 2 and Star Wars Clone Wars 2

Positano is entirely another place today. Hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions now dot the area which is largely unheard of in the past. The major industry of Positano is tourism. Remnants of what it once was are still evident in its subtle lifestyle though.

Vacation in Positano Italy is very rewarding though. A few other places can be as romantic as the sights and scenes of the natural cliff setting. The sight alone can often evoke an unexplained feeling of absorption. Even the picturesque houses that precariously cling on the cliff face could exude such sheer beauty. For the best experience, try walking down the coastal road on a waning afternoon sun. You’ll be amaze on how stunningly beautiful everything can get.

A vacation in Positano Italy isn’t about natural wonder of beaches and eternal sunshine as can be expected on the Caribbean. Even if it rains, positano is the only place you’ll accept rain gladly. Why? Because the rain will only heighten the colors those purple poppies you can find in just every corner. Renaissance is still alive in this part of Italy. Imagine Donatello working on the stone friezes that adorn some of the older structures or Michelangelo lugging his tools of trade along the coastal road of Amalfi Coast. You won’t be far from wrong. Take another turn on vacations. Have a vacation in Positano Italy.

And oh, how do you state 'outstanding' in Italian? It’s Positano.
