Getting Around In Las Vegas On Your Family And Adult Travel

Planning for your transportation around Las Vegas is very important if you want to have a relaxing and gratifying vacation. During busy times, traffic is horrendous and this makes driving extremely difficult. Public transportation is also available but then, you need to have adequate knowledge about them before you travel to Vegas.

The Monorail in Las Vegas is one of the public transportation available for tourists and locals. For every 1-way ticket, you need to pay $5 while an all-day pass costs $12. If you’re traveling alone or with your loved one, the an all-day pass is an excellent choice. Discounted rates are sometimes not given to group travelers and if you try to add up the cost, it would be too much. You can find the Monorail at the east side strip of Las Vegas. Major hotels can be accessed through the Monorail but you need to take a long walk. If you’re hurrying to the hotel, this is not a good option. The weather is not a big problem when you’re riding the Monorail because it is climate controlled. Traffic is also not a problem with the Monorail. So you see, there are good things about the Monorail but there are also disadvantages.

A bus line called CAT is another public transportation found in Las Vegas. CAT stands for Citizen’s Are Transit and it covers 49 routes throughout the city. At 5:30 am, the bus is already in transit and it will stop at 1:30 am the following day. Popular areas are accessed by the bus line 24 hours a day. One route costs $1.25 per adult. Reduced rates are given to children when they ride the bus. Like the Monorail, CAT also offers an all-day pass which costs $5 and it covers all routes. This will work best if you plan to stay for a couple of days but if you plan to stay longer (about a month perhaps), you might want to consider getting a 30-day bus pass because it’s a lot cheaper.

You can find lots of taxis in Vegas because of its affordability. If you’re traveling with your family, this is the best option for you. Establishments are close to one another. If you’re riding a taxi, don’t forget to give the driver a tip especially if you have several bags with you. Keep in mind though that if you get a taxi from the airport, you will need to pay a surcharge. This can save you time though and is more convenient since the taxi will drop you directly at the hotel where you plan to stay.

Now you know your three options in order to get around Las Vegas. You can ride the Monorail, the CAT, or the taxis in the city. You need to have a concrete plan before traveling so that you can choose the best option that will suit your budget. How long do you plan to stay in Vegas? How much is your budget allocation for transportation? Answer these questions early on so that you will know which option to choose.

You can definitely save on your Las Vegas family and adult vacation if you know several public transportation options. If you hate traffic, the Monorail is an excellent choice but only if you’re traveling alone or as a couple. Vegas is a busy city and you can expect crowded streets everyday but if you know how to get around the traffic, you will enjoy your vacation even more.
