The best campground to stay at in New York is Adirondack Park. You will have days filled with fishing, hiking, camping, singing around the campfire, relaxing and just glazing at the beautiful views of the Adirondack Mountains. They have indoor and outside activities do to at the campgrounds. The waterfalls in the park are just a beautiful sight to see as well as the mountain summits. There are so many lakes and ponds to fish and swim with river that run rapid for some kayaking. You will find that the Adirondack Park is the best place you have ever camped before.

Just because you are camping does mean you will be totally secluded. The area has shops, museums, tours, exhibits and theater for more excitement. One of the joys of camping in this area is watching the sun slowly dip behind the mountains. It is a beautiful sight to see and highlights the mountains even more. You will see a black bear, bobcats, coyotes, beavers, bald eagles and white tail deer. You will have all the wilderness you want in the Adirondacks. The wildlife, forest, mountains and activities are what keep people coming back to this area for a day, week or month of camping.

The first thing to do when camping in New York is to find the campground that will have what you need. There are state parks, national parks, public parks and private parks for camping. If you prefer the private campgrounds, you have a choice of six campgrounds that are for members only and offer daily activities as well as other attractions nearby. The public campgrounds are open to everyone and many are filled with activities for the entire family. Besides swimming, fishing and hiking, the campgrounds have game rooms for the kids and some have a nightly movie for the family to enjoy.

You will find that some of the campgrounds have tennis courts, boating, water skiing, museums and nature buildings and tours. The recreational programs are set up to make sure everyone has an enjoyable time while camping in New York. When one thinks about New York, they never associate camping with the state. There is so much to do and see when camping in the state that more people are finding that the area is actually one of the best places to camp and explore. With all the mountains and nature trails in the forests of New York, you are sure to find something interesting to do.

Beaver Island State park located close to Niagara River has many different things to do when camping in New York. They have a disc golf course, playgrounds, athletic fields, a marina and fishing. During the colder months you can ice fish, sled, do some snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. You will find that all the parks and campgrounds in New York are designed for fun and adventure without having to travel outside the parks. Just bring your camping gear and the rest is just waiting for you to enjoy.
