Map Of Panama

Similar with all the other countries in Central America, this native Indian region of Panama was also plagued with deadly diseases and powerful weapons that were all recounted during the aggressive colonization of the Spaniards. As their regional power increased, it has become the launching point of invasions into other neighboring regions. In fact, most of the stolen treasure mines in Bolivia and Peru were sent back to the said nation for it to be transported back to Europe.

Upon traveling across the seas of the Caribbean, it was an instant magnet for a lot of pirates who also wanted to possess the great finds on board huge ships. This was a chief threat to their plans so they decided to head south, it was long compared to the previous route but it was definitely safer. Due to that, Panama was ignored and when Colombia gained its independence in 1821, it eventually turned out to be a province under it.

Even with those miserable accounts, they are still blessed with natural beauty that continues to capture a lot of tourists as they are home to the world- renowned canal bridging the gap between the oceans of the Atlantic and Pacific as well as with the first railroad in the entire globe resulting to faster communication.
